The Open Access Teaching Case Journal (OATCJ) invites submissions for its inaugural online teaching case conference. The conference is designed not only to help case writers strengthen their work but also to build engagement with OATCJ among submitting authors, reviewers, and additional volunteers. In keeping with OATCJ’s values, the event will be welcoming, developmental, and globally accessible.

Conference Theme

The inaugural conference theme is Teaching Cases on Local Organizations. We invite business case studies focused on organizations in the authors’ region. This theme highlights the value of locally grounded, real-world cases while creating opportunities for global learning through diverse regional contexts.

Who Should Submit

We welcome submissions from experienced and new case authors, instructors who use or develop teaching cases, and researchers from all business disciplines. Work from all regions of the world is encouraged, with conference timing intended to support participation across a broad international audience.

Submission Categories

Submissions of both work-in-progress cases and full cases are welcome. This is a valuable opportunity for authors seeking developmental feedback on case framing, evidence, learning objectives, teaching strategy, or decision focus through peer reviews and roundtable discussions. We encourage authors to revise their manuscripts based on this feedback and later submit them to OATCJ.

Review Process

All submissions will be reviewed through a developmental double-anonymous peer-review process. The goal is to provide constructive guidance that helps authors improve their cases while also supporting community building and scholarly exchange.

Conference Values

The conference aligns with OATCJ’s vision and values, including accessibility, open education, free global access to teaching materials, and open educational resources. The inaugural event will be free to register for. Future conferences are expected to include a small registration fee to support conference operations and the continued development of OATCJ.
